Adversity

20 Jun

Each day lately has been full of adversity. Car crash, stolen gear, not having time to rehearse, DMV / Court issues, insurance issues, getting the car back and it’s not fixed, sitting in crazy traffic for hours on end several days in a row, trying to get in the studio and it’s not available.

And the frustrations pile up and you wonder when it’s gonna end. But at the same time, things are also real good. I’m sitting here at Skee.tv waiting to get in the studio which we thought would be wide open all day. But we only had an hour or so before we had to make way for another artist.

But we can’t quit. It’s not an option. And for some reason this adversity is breeding more determination, and we’re wading through, and things MIGHT be starting to happen.

P.S. this wouldn’t be possible without my incredible wife.

Your loss was covered by insurance, yes?

Or your incredible father-in-law, whose insurance covered most of the loss?

I am certainly a huge fan myself. As you can see here! And you are right, the insurance will be a great help. It didn’t really mitigate the immediate struggle though. In fact in just a couple moments I’m headed to a gig where it would sure be nice to have my stolen gear. But like I said, there are far worse problems to have in life and so in the grand scheme of things life could have dealt us a lot worse. So no lingering worries here!
